There’s a group of people being ignored. You’re one of them.
Does this describe you?
You work for a company.
You’re not getting paid enough.
The company doesn’t really care about you.
If 2008 happened all over again, you could quickly be out of a job.
You have a hobby or a passion you could make money from, if you knew where to start.
Yesterday, I was talking with the massage therapist employed at my gym. I asked her if she was taking on clients of her own yet. She told me she wanted to – but she wasn’t sure where to start.
That’s common today. Our parents told us to get a job with a good company, and things would be fine. Now we know that isn’t necessarily true.
Everyone needs to have a side business that can grow into your fallback plan. Because eventually, the “cushy” job that you have is going to end. It might be when your boss leaves, and you don’t like the direction the company is going. It could be that everyone in your department gets laid off. It could be that your office closes down because your work could be done more cheaply elsewhere. It could be a combination of all those things, or it could be something else. But you realize that you have no control over any of it.
So where do you start? That’s what I’m going to answer.
If you keep reading, you’ll see:
1. You can make money on your own without working 9AM- 5PM (or 7AM – 7PM) for a company that doesn’t care about you.
2. You can build your own following that will launch your business.
3. You can use technology to do all of this. It’s not as difficult as you think.
