It’s a challenging time for everyone, but I wanted to write down all the latest updates for you to access in one place.

1. Yesterday, Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, went live to explain what Instagram’s goals are during this time. He explained that Instagram trying to do three things broadly. The first is to keep people safe – giving them access to good information and encouraging them to stay home. The second is to try and bring people together, and the third is trying to figure out who needs real significant support and getting them that support, whether it’s people or businesses.

2. Yesterday, Instagram launched Thank You Hour, a sticker in stories that lets you show gratitude for who and what is helping you during this time. Use the sticker and your photo or video will be added to a shared Instagram story at 7 p.m. where friends can see your thanks.

3. Instagram changed the “questions” sticker from “Ask me a question” to “How Can I Help?” temporarily. My sticker never changed so I’m not sure if this is the case – report back if you have this or not, please!

4. Yesterday, Instagram rolled out DMs to the desktop widely. If you are on Windows there’s been an Instagram app forever so this is no big deal, but if you’re on a Mac, this is going to make your life easier.

Let me know if you have these new features!
